Over 50 years ago, Viceroy pioneered the concept of pre-engineered homes. This entailed careful selection of all building materials and pre-cutting all the lumber before transporting it to the building site. These steps allowed for greater precision, cost control and speed than had been possible before.

Viceroy quickly gained a reputation for innovative design, distinguished by vaulted windows, soaring cathedral ceilings, lavish use of glass, dramatic roof lines and a sense of space that rarely had been seen in custom homes before.
